…for Winter vibes
I’ve never been one to care about Christmas, I’m not particularly the snow (wet sand, what else) and the expectations of a perfect magical time stress me out. The UK tends to be absolutely out of control and as soon as November hits, the white-red-green marketing starts, accompanied by the songs, god I hate those songs. But it also has a particular atmosphere making it kind of magic? Winter is bearable, the lights help with seasonal depression and I love seeing trees inside everyone’s home in a voyeuristic walk.
Last year we were in Wales, J. and I share the same amount of disdain for Christmas which actually made it…lovely. On Christmas Eve, we drank Bailey’s, went to the pub and enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the many drinks, we lost miserably at a Christmas-themed quiz and brought home the last place prize (beers, it was a win). On the 25th, we had a roast at his mum's, drank some more and went to sleep after an espresso martini-fueled food battle. This year we will be in Belgium to eat our weight in raclette. The promise of a good time.
It is the last article of the year, I would love to say until the equinox but it seems like a dangerously long break, so let’s say I will hibernate until sometime in January. I also planned a change in schedule for the new year (I do love a new start and using the build-cycles and opportunities), Journal of a Procrastinator will now be published every other Wednesday, HUNTER will be a seasonal mood board and I am adding a monthly long essay.
