I have few passions in life, obscure topics and areas of knowledge I am absolutely burning for. By those I mean the type of topics I would go conspiracy crazy about. As I can’t gather coherent thoughts long enough to write on one topic, I thought I’d just make a list of those random passions I like to sprinkle in any possible conversations.1
Bones (the TV show) in general but especially the poor (utter garbage) character evolution of Brenan. She went from a brilliantly written autistic protagonist to a washed-out cliché in season 6, the fact that it coincides with her pregnancy and the start of a romantic relationship with Booth is even more enerving.
Finding patterns, making theories (see above), and learning about absolutely anything like the correlation between the increasing likeliness of war and the number of young men in a population.
Hating on anything the Tories do. This island is led by IDIOTS (even leading is overestimating them, there’s no leadership).
Formula 1. The pre-season drama this year is the gift that keeps on giving, I mean Hamilton to Ferrari? Announcing it a full year in advance?? Where will Sainz race in 2025? How is it going to play this season? The mid-season transfers to come??? And what about Christian Horner? Could Red Bull sack him and could it put Verstappen's potential 4th consecutive WDC in peril?
Symbolism. I know the Da Vinci Code is a lot of garbage but I live for the art meets political conspiracy type of things. The analysis of Van Eyck’s Arnolfini Portrait we did in art class, 12 years ago, still haunts me. Although I forgot some of the symbolism I still see the world through that lens (to some extent of course).
Starting projects, doing the research, drafting some ideas and never finishing any of them.
Books. No further explanation is needed.
I am also deeply passionate about serious and useful things like democracy and the importance of the rule of law, journalism as a pillar of said democracy, gender equality and gender-based violence, more boring things like geopolitics, the migratory consequences of climate change, infrastructure, small-town living and the social economy of communities (made that up but it’s a field of my knowledge).
Finding the perfect notebook.
How we learn the mother's name in the very first episodes of HIMYM. Yes, that’s correct. In the scene, Barney and Ted are at the strip club when the next stripper is announced. Tracy. Which is indeed, the name of the mother as revealed in the last season. The clue is in the gasp of the children, why would they gasp at the name if it wasn’t a clue left for the viewers? It only took me about 15 rewatch.
Making lists instead of writing sentences, making lists of sentences instead of writing paragraphs, making lists of sentences turned into paragraphs turning into an article.
Isn’t this the most ADHD-coded intro ever?
